To Achieve Your Goals, You Must Become Attractive on the Inside

This post was originally published on Entrepreneur.com

Half of this year is gone. Have you reached 50 percent of your goals?

If one of your goals is to be successful -- in any area of your life or career -- before 2016 comes to an end, the one thing you must to do is to become an attractive person. I'm not talking about external attractiveness, but rather the internal kind. As the late motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said, “Success is something you attract by the person you become.”

If you want success and all that it brings, you have to become a better, more attractive person. Period. “Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development,” Rohn once said. The personal development he referred to can be knowledge, experience, mindset or beliefs.

You become attractive by developing yourself into the person you know you need to be in order to attract, create and sustain the level of success you want in...

Everyone wants success. But are you willing to change?

Without change, there can be no growth. And in order to get what you’ve never had, you must become someone you've never been. Before you go into the woods, you'll need a map. Rest assured others have forged the route before you. Their experiences can help guide you to your own best you.

Live forward by making a life plan.

With "Living Forward: A Proven Plan To Stop Drifting And Get The Life You Want," authors Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy help you begin to become the architect of your own life. Most of us make plans for everything -- vacations, dinner, our children's school functions. But rarely does a person make a life plan. If I asked you to summarize your life plan, could you tell me? Probably not.

If you finally want to live with more intention and purpose in your life or become an entrepreneur now and not later, then your...

Is Instant-Gratification Dominating You?

This post was originally published on Entrepreneur.com.

In the book, Think and Grow Rich, author Napoleon Hill states, “Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires. So strong and impelling is the desire for sexual contact that men freely run the risk of life and reputation to indulge it.”

Would you not agree?

But Hill goes on to pontificate, “The transmutation of sex energy calls for the exercise of will-power. If it is not transmuted into some creative effort it will find a less worthy outlet.” In other words, your burning desire to have sex, that sexual energy, needs to be diverted into something creative. In essence, you must delay physical gratification and use that desire to create your masterpiece. You must learn to transform energy.

How can you do this?

By simply shifting your thoughts.

The mind is a creature of habit. It thrives upon the dominating thoughts you feed it. You must control your mind. Think of something yellow. Now think of...

Procrastination, Resistance, Fear? Join the Club

This post was originally published on Entrepreneur.com

In the past, I have written how you've got to get your self-esteem up and make sure your self-talk is positive, to become a more attractive person. Now, we tackle the ugly, three-eyed monster of procrastination, resistance and fear.

Have you ever heard of the Ziegarnik Effect?

Basically it says that something left undone will plague you forever until you do it. Human nature is to finish what we start and if it is not finished, we experience some type of discomfort. This discomfort manifests itself in different ways.

It usually shows up in your life as procrastination, resistance and fear. In the book The War of Art, author Steven Pressfield says, “Procrastination is the most common manifestation of resistance because it’s the easiest to rationalize. We don’t tell ourselves, “I’m never going to write that book.” Instead we say, “I’m going to do it tomorrow.”...

5 Ways to Leverage Your Pain, Disappointments & Hurts

This post was originally published on Entrepreneur.com

Let's play a game. What if you viewed pain as fuel, hurt as something to look forward to and disappointments as your servant. How would that change your outlook on life? On your relationships? On your business?

Indulge me until you finish reading this article. I want you to question why you believe pain is something to be avoided, heartache is bad and struggle is something negative. Ask yourself why you believe that. I think it's because along this journey of life you have picked up messages of mass thinking. Don’t worry, I have too. But fortunately, we can change our thinking.

Did you ever hear your mom say, “Money doesn’t grow on trees.” Obviously, it doesn’t, but did the idea of scarcity get implanted in your mind? If you heard that phrase often enough, you probably picked up that mass thinking as fact and never stopped to question it. Or if you heard your dad say, “People...

How Very Successful People Think Differently

This post was originally published on Entrepreneur.com.

Would you agree or disagree with each of the following statements?

I wish I had fewer problems in life.

I wish I didn’t have to struggle so much in life.

I wish I had the opportunities that other people have.

If you agreed to any one of the above statements, then you are not thinking like an incredibly successful person. Success leaves clues. What clues can we glean from incredibly successful people? Let’s break down each of the above statements.

1. I wish I had fewer problems in life.

You learn some of the best lessons in life from struggles. So instead of wishing things were easier for you, become better. Learn what you need to learn to overcome the challenges in your life. Then teach what you know to others.

The only way you grow in life is when you face your problems head on. Stop wishing for fewer problems. Whatever you focus on grows, so instead of focusing on your problems,...
