God Friended Me On...Facebook Messenger?

In 2008, I lost my mother to colon and liver cancer. My mom, Bernice Patton was just 59-years old. After the death, I regularly contemplated suicide and was in a state of depression for several years. 

I worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service at the time and every day I would see stamps. One day, while having recurring thoughts of suicide, a thought from the Divine about a postage stamp popped into my brain. I thought deeply that day about the purpose of a stamp and that one thought changed the trajectory of my life.

I later challenged myself to live like a postage stamp because they stick to their purpose and never ever give up. So I began setting goals for my spiritual, mental and emotional health. I decided for 21 straight days to get up at 4 a.m. and go to the gym before work. I not only kept that promise to myself, I kept up that regimen for nearly a decade.
